Wolfgang's Steakhouse, New York, New York Restaurant Details

Spectacular steak and over-the-top sides reign at this manly local meatery chain, each location of which sports a different feel; you may have to not eat for a week to pay off the bill, but then again, you might not need to because the portions are so huge.

The sides were okay, but the steak was out of this world. The server was fantastic as well.

The steak for two, a massive T-bone cut that comes sizzling in its own juices on a heated plate, was perfectly crisp on the outside, tender on the inside, and had a great nutty flavor brought out by just the right amount of salt. The crab cake we ordered as an appetizer was equally worth the calorie overload. The sauteed spinach wasn't memorable, so I might skip that if you don't mind a vegetable-less meal (the crab cake came with garnish).

I just came back from it and I had the worst experience ever!!!!
very bad service I was waiting 25 min to my steak after my family received they order , after these 25 min my steak was like a stone and the manager just apologize and refunded just the steak that i didnt eat , he even charged me for the potatoes..(how lame) - you are going there to spend so much money to enjoy the atmosphere and the food ... didnt happen !!!!

A little played out, but a classic nonetheless. Waiting for Luger can be a pain, and this is more than competent substitute.

Go with the waiters' recommendations. If you order anything other than the medium rare porterhouse for X amount of people, you will draw condescending stares from the waiters while they snicker at you for being a eunuch.

The Tribeca location feels a bit sterile, albeit nice.
