05/29/2012 8:48 pmI would give this place 0 stars if I could. My aunt recommended this bakery because she had used them in the past and was satisfied. My experience this past Saturday was horrible because they don’t seem to have decent enough customer service skills to handle one of their own screw ups. We’ll never patron them again. They were gracious enough to allow me to do a long distance order for a specialty/picture cake via mail (USPS). I ordered a print of the picture I needed on the cake and had it mailed directly to Woodlea. Per the manager, the picture was distorted and too small. Fine. This time I went to Staples and had the photo printed myself so that I could see exactly what was getting shipped to Woodlea. Laurie and I agreed that the last picture was all good. All seemed to be copasetic, that is until I went to pick up the cake… I arrived at Woodlea, stated my order, was presented with the cake and then offered to check out. The girl didn’t even say anything about the picture on the cake being messed up. The picture on the cake was completely and clearly messed up. She just shrugged it off. I asked why there were a bunch of big dark streaks through the photo on the cake. It was just like a really horrible print out. She was like “I don’t know. I can get the owner.” The owner came out and basically stated that she didn’t know what had happened and that there was nothing that they could do. Umm... Do they not bother to look at a cake after a specialty picture has been applied? This wasn’t one small streak, but several long dark streaks across about 30% of the picture. They weren’t very apologetic about any of it. She offered a discount, but who gives a crap about a discount when their product looks like poop?! I was stuck with a really crappy looking cake the night before my event. The whole point of a specialty cake is to get something nicer than average, special. The cake looked a mess. Had they have called me before I arrived and told me their machine was experiencing difficulty and then maybe I could have decided to go with a plain cake with text or something. Never, never, ever again! |
