If you've had a long day and need to treat yourself, retire to the cozy trappings of this neighborhood fixture near Fenway for inexpensive American comfort food, including excellent wood-fired pizza with copious and creative topping options, plus beer from a rotating tap; staffers make a point to learn the names of the down-to-earth regulars, so it's a friendly scene.

Delicious and affordable wood cooked pizza. A great place to go with a few friends to share some fancy pizza and split a pitcher of beer! A great vibe and very nice wait staff!

When Woody's won Best of Boston for pizza from Boston Magazine a few years back, the regulars were shocked. Not that we disagreed, but we just had no idea that no one knew about our little neighborhood joint. But the write-up got it right -- calling it Boston's real Cheers. Almost everyone is a regular, and the staff and owners all feel like a family. The tap list always has a handful of quality fresh local beers and the wood-fired pizza is a hybrid of real neapolitan pizza in italy and the american california style. Barbecue chicken and white clam are my favorite varieties, but I usually order mushroom, italian sausage and fresh basil and am in heaven. Highly recommend the daily soups, as well. And, if you're not in mood for pizza, the kitchen has a full range of entrees that are more than your standard chicken parm afterthought

This is another of our local go-tos. The brick oven pizzas are tasty, and the salad with fried goat cheese is also great! The beer list is good and always has a few local brews on tap.

The pizza's here are pretty good and when you get a table, they give you a cool "pizza-man" to free up space on the table. Unique beer menu features some local and craft options. You'd think that based on it's location, there would be a ton more college kids, but fortunately that usually isn't the case.
