Yachtsman Steakhouse, Orlando, Florida Restaurant Details

I can see why this place has 4 stars. The service is superb.
We started with the Land Salad and Lobster Bisque. The salad was sweet and very large.
We ordered the Halibut and 16 oz Prime Rib Eye, they also brought the Bone Marrow and bread. I first lookes at the bone kind of weird but when I tried it, it was sweet.
We topped off with a Creme Brule dessert. This place is is not cheap but it is worth the experience. Quality and quantity are both 4 star. Dinner for 2 Cost = $150.15

Food:

I will say upfront that the food is great here. One of the better steaks I have had. However, the other diners AND the staff were quite rude to us. We're not a well-off family, but we do like to treat ourselves on occasion. We dressed nicely as we could for our reservation.

We overheard other diners complaining about our presence and our waiter made extra effort to ensure we felt uncomfortable. We clearly did not have the refined sensibilities of the other diners (sarcasm). I will never step foot in this restaurant again.

Worst experience ever.

Before our visit, I had never even heart of the Yachtsman Steakhouse. Well, good thing I was introduced to it because I am in love.

We somehow scored reservations on NYE (after a few hours of repetitive refreshing of the reservation portion of our My Disney app) and I couldn't had had a better last meal of 2014.

Our server was Yun and she was fantastic. She was efficient, funny, unobtrusive and had excellent recommendations.

We heard fantastic things about the bread basket.. and I was thinking.. honestly, how good can it be? Umm... good. REALLY good. The onion rolls, with the Vermont sea salted butter and a roasted garlic glove? Yeah, I'll have 10, thanks.

We shared the caesar salad for a starter, at Yun's recommendation. It was outstanding. I am a pretty big fan of the tableside caesar at Bull & Bear but this took the cake. The dressing was amazing- and it also included big pieces of shaved parmesan, homemade croutons, proscuitto and candied lemon (Which was outstanding by the way... why haven't more people thought of this?!?!)

For the entree, we decided to share the 32oz porterhouse for 2. They age the steaks in house and this was a 21 day aging process. It came out sizzling on a skillet, cooked to a perfect medium rare. Crispy on the outside and unbelievable tender on the inside. It was accompanied by the best caramelized onions I've ever had (Yun said it was a combination of 7 or 8 types of onions), creamed Gruyere spinach and mushrooms. Incredible. It also came with some of the best potatoes au gratin I've ever had. (And I've eaten a lotta PAG in my time)

We were way too full for dessert, but capped the night off with delicious espresso (to follow up the bottle of wine we drank)

All around, a wonderful experience. Yes, some people were underdressed which annoys me... who goes out to eat at a nice restaurant in a hoodie?! But it is Disney after all.... However, the bottom line was that the food was so good that I don't care if I had to dine next to a bunch of hairy guys in Speedos.

Absolutely love this restaurant when I'm visiting Disney's Yacht Club. The staff is always friendly and helpful. My friends love the creamed spinach and truffle mac and cheese for the sides. These are good to share with the table.

Food:

Bone marrow and ribeye. To die for. They dry age their meat in house and have an amazing menu. My steak was cooked perfect and the bone marrow was present with the bone cut down the middle length wise and perfectly cooked and seasoned. Highly recommended.
