Wow I'm so impress with their size of the dons and chirashi bowls. I thought it would be overpriced but you do get a lot for the price. you definately need to share this if you are normal size asian woman.
I took a star off because the chicken teriyaki is one of the saddest, pathetic plates I ever seen. 18 dollar for chicken, soup and salad is way overpriced. you can get better at cafe 101 or kubos. If I were you, stick to sushi items ONLY. I would come back for sushi but I do need someone to share food with.

You have small sushi, medium sushi, large sushi, extra large sushi, and then there is Miyagi size sushi. The fish on the sushi is by far the largest I've seen around Houston. I've been to many other restaurants including Sushi Wabi, Oishii, Aka, Hokkaido, Sushi King, Kata Robata, Miyako, etc and this place by far offers the most generous cuts of fish. The quality is excellent as well. Very cozy place run by a Japanese couple.

Walked by this place so many times and never thought about going in to it. But finally went in and was amazed, really great sushi. Been to lots of sushi places, and most are good but this place was great, maybe I am giving the place 4 stars because the waiter gave us an extra sake after we paid the bill in honor of my birthday, but the food was delicious and beautiful.

First off, I want to say that I understand that this is just a mom and pop joint and that it is just the two of them. However, I took off a star because we waited over an hour for our sushi. The place was somewhat busy, but I found this to be quite long even for the two of them. The woman is as attentive as she can be running the restaurant alone, but there really is just too much work for the two of them. Our sushi was delicious and the portions are quite large for the sushi. I got the salmon, yellowtail, and eel sushi. It was fresh, but not top quality. The maki is also great and they give a big amount of fish in the rolls. I had the alaskan maki.

Overall I had no complaints about the food except for the prices. I took off another star because their rolls are definitely over priced.

If you have the time to sit it a restaurant for at least an hour and a half, you should go to Sushi Miyagi. If not, skip it.

Look for "SUSHI" sign to find this lovely restaurant, it won't say "Sushi Miyagi" on the building. Look no further for one of the best sushi in the area, made by a Sushi who works with the patient diligence of a craftsman, and find your appetite in a place as quaint and colorful as its hostess. I came for a filling Chirashi lunch bowl, then I decided to skip dinner and added on a Crazy Maki roll to prolong my dining experience. You'll want to do the same when you come here, so come hungry, leave a review, and keep bringing it up to your friends and family later.

P.S. - I think they were playing Lindsey Stirling on the speakers; very energetic violin music. Wasn't expecting that, ha-ha. Was expecting something more quiet.
