08/28/2015 10:44 amfirst year anniversary!! I contact reservations to request date, time and table, they explain they cant reserve specific table. So I mention the occasion and they say if the table is available they will certainly seat us there. We arrive just early to a vacant hostess station, when hostess arrives she is curt and unfriendly i give our name and res. info she cant find it then does I mention the request for table - we end up at a table across from window tables with at least two window tables available and a few better wall tables as well. this is not what was promised and i certainly dont like an unfriendly hostess who didnt care to provide what was requested when available ever but especially when is a special date and Im paying top dollar!! we went on to enjoy our evening cause that what we do but the seating and hostess certainly didnt help our special evening - oh food was great - service was slow disorganized friendly. Owners: feel free to contact me for date and time if you wish to address the hostess!! |

06/23/2015 8:45 pmWonderful view but just pretty good food. It goes without saying that the view at Yamashiro’s is spectacular. I don’t know if there’s a better view of L.A. and the west side. The history is interesting; it used to be a house. A totally opulent Japanese style house with gardens inside and out. The service was excellent but we only give the food a B+. My sushi was terrific but my husband was not impressed with his tempura appetizer and Wagyu steak. It was served sliced and several pieces were chewy. He was disappointed. |

06/03/2015 11:55 amWent here for dinner as a prelude to going to the Hollywood Bowl. They have a dine and ride package that includes dinner, plus shuttle to and from the Bowl. Great idea since you then avoid the hassle of parking, the traffic, and waiting in the parking lot after the concert to be able to get your car out of the lot, since it is staked parking. |

05/22/2015 6:51 amFamous Yamashiro Hollywood. Here for a family function and was really impressed with the soul burgers. The staff is extremely friendly and happy to share stories with you about the history of the building, as well as encourage you to explore the haunted upstairs. Be sure to check out the photos on the wall and see how many famous visitors you can identify |

02/20/2015 4:38 pmI've lived in LA for more than 20 years and this is the nicest restaurant I've ever been to. Save it for a special occasion, worth it. Every detail about this place is gorgeous and crafted. The floors, gardens, even handles are gorgeous. A+ for ambiance and decor. I believe it was someone's old mansion. The views.... Wow. You literally see the whole city from your seat. It's breathtaking |
