Not even close. Way overrated. Had spring rolls, dumplings, fried rice, Kung pao chicken. All average at best. I was very surprised that this is the best LA Chinatown has to offer. Nice staff. Good waiter for me. But I was seriously underwhelmed.

One of the best chinese restaurants here in Los Angeles, the fried rice and kung pao chicken are so delicious.

Yang Chow rocks. I have heard about this place for years and finally went on a Sunday Night. It's a bit cramped, probably not the cleanest but the food rocks the house. It's one of the best Chinese Food Restaurants I have ever been to. The Shrimp as well as the fried rice combo were some of my favorites. We will be back!

I was actually impressed with Yang Chow and the reviews are pretty mixed I wasn't expecting it! Food- Everything we ate was delicious and executed well. I can only assume there is plenty of MSG in it because like a crackhead I couldn't resist more and more. Sliced Chicken with Hot and Spicy Garlic Sauce was amazing , and not its not too spicy, just the right amount of kick. The beef lo mein and pork fried rice were equally delicious.

Its typically family style portions so they are pretty good size, two of us ate hand had enough left over for lunch the next day. Service- The servers were great at their job, they seated quickly were very polite and checked on us often. Restaurant- the location itself was so so, its a bit run down and could use some cleaning up but by all means isn't bad. We will just call it quaint. Easily one of my new favorites, I look forward to coming back next time I am in Chinatown.

Late dinner, but I freaking deserve it after running here from Staples Center. Yang Chow is smack dab in the middle of China Town. I showed up like 30 minutes before closing on a Monday night (Yelp correction, closes at 9:30 pm). I was literally the only customer here, maybe 2 or 3 other groups walked in after me. You can hear the guys in the kitchen yelling at each other, which was alright I guess, since I can imagine that the noise of a dining crowd would most likely drown them out. No wait for me, since I'm not here in the prime hours.

-=-Slippery Shrimp-=- At $15 is a bit more than I'd wanna pay for a solo dinner, but ya'll on Yelp keep raving about it. I'll tell ya what I feel about it, it's pretty over-hyped. Honestly, I would get the same glorious feeling ordering the firecracker chicken at Panda Express (and I ruv Panda BTW). That's not to say that I didn't enjoy the food here. It was truly delicious and I licked up every last bite of it. I hoped I wouldn't have burnt the roof of my mouth though, but I was pretty inpatient. Garlic and Orange sauce, that pretty much sums it up. You have the same batter that they use for Orange Chicken on the shrimp as well. Eat it up kids. It's good. Enough to share for 2 or 3.

"The slippery shrimp dish is a must-have" at this "nostalgic, old-school" Chinese trio cherished for its "comforting", "Americanized" eats like "you grew up with" in "plentiful" portions; just overlook the "noisy" somewhat "run-down" settings and "efficient, but rushed" service and focus on the way-"reasonable" prices.
