A bar and grill where the grill is upstairs and the bar is downstairs. Not that great for large crowds, but people tend to spill out into the sidewalk if it gets packed, since the upstairs grill area also serves beers. The downstairs is like a furnished basement with stereotypical neon lights you'd see affixed inside a bar. Prices are probably the best in the area for drinks compared to all the over priced bars around or inside Yankee Stadium. Probably the best bang for your buck if you want a few drinks before heading into the stadium for a game.

Yankee Bar & Grill has been our pre-game and post-game spot for years. I had to write this review after seeing a previous and ridiculous review that obviously was just a malicious review. This is a great spot, and the owners of the Yankee Bar & Grill are great folks. Their prices are better than anywhere on the street (about 50% cheaper!!!!), and they have a great selection of beers and cocktails. They are famous for their 24 OZ Bronx Bomber Beers (you can get a smaller one if you can't handle it), and no one on the street sells more selection of the domestic or imported beers that we like at the same price It's right on historic River Avenue directly across the street from the old center field bleacher exit from the Original Yankee Stadium (now called Heritage Yards I guess). Their food is great baseball food (Dogs, Burgers, Pizza, Wings, Tenders, Frieds, Heros, etc), and they cook it fresh while you watch. Some days we will go down there when we dont have a ticket (or can't get one at a decent price from a scalper), and we watch the game in the sports bar in the basement. Definately a great Yankees Sports Bar. We take our kids and their friends also because it is not a "bangin' bar". Its a great baseball sports bar and grill. Nothin' fancy (so they dont charge an arm and a leg) but very friendly. Highly recommended.
