08/01/2010 9:13 pmI,d like to start off by saying my wife and I are from the big island of Hawaii. that being said we know good sushi when we eat it. This is one of 2 places we like in Reno. We come here more then any other place in Reno. We love this place!! The service is great as is the food. All and All i'd say this is my fav. sushi in NV. by far. |

02/13/2010 7:57 amSteer clear of this place. We tried the sushi bar. They claim they're the cheapest sushi in town, but it definitely shows through in the quality of the food (or lack thereof). The rolls do not taste fresh at all, like the ingredients have been sitting out for a few days. The sushi bar itself has a bad vibe (lame decor, annoying gas station bahtroom fluorescent lighting). But the worst of all? There was, I kid you not, a cockroach crawling around behind the glass among the fish and prep station. When we pointed it out to one of the chefs, he merely laughed a little and pushed it into the garbage can. There was no sign of embarrassment or horror and no apology was given. I was disgusted. If you want good sushi, spend a little more and go to Hiroba, that place rocks! |

09/07/2007 1:15 amI will not eat here again. The prices were high for the quality of food and the service was friendly, but slow. We ordered Chinese, not sushi. The General's Chicken wasn't the least bit spicy despite being marked as a "spicy" dish on the menu. It had a generic tasting sauce that was thickened with cornstarch. When all the sauces at a Chinese place are thickened with cornstarch, you know you're not getting "authentic" food. The Moo Shu pork would have been good, but it was so heavily seasoned, that we couldn't enjoy it. It had a decent amount of pork and the vegetables were fresh, but if they had added any more salt it would have been inedible. |
