Gave our reserved table away and we weren't late.
Made us wait 45 min to get a table, and another 15 to greet us and take our order.
No Kirin or white rice on a Friday night.
Forgot to bring sauce – we were ten minutes into eating when they finally did.
White rice finally appeared at the end of our meal. Great.
Comped some drinks to make up for all the screw ups but the overall experience was terrible. Never again.

Get the sukiyaki over the shabu shabu if you want your meat more flavorful. Also ask for a side of goma. It's a delicious sesame sauce that goes great with everything

I like meat and I like sweets, so I thought that this shabu-shabu/fondue would be a perfect place to try during a chilly weeknight- especially with a slightly discounted meal during dineLA. I was pretty satisfied with my meal and I enjoyed the ambiance, I just wish the wait wasn't so long.

The place is pretty hip with a bar in the center and a few booths around, making it seem big even though there are only 5-10 tables. Even though I had reservations, I had to wait 45 minutes since parties were taking a while and there weren't many seats. I did spot unused tables- they could've easily sat couples at smaller tables for 2 and saved booths for groups of 3+. Being more efficient with space could allow them to seat more people and results in happier customers and more money for them. The waiting room is also next to a door which was being opened constantly, letting in a lot of cold air which did not make my friends happy.

Despite the wait the food was great. I ordered off the dineLA menu, getting edamame, a 12 oz sumo portion of meat (sukiyaki style), and upgraded to green tea fondue. The appetizer was covered in spicy miso, which I never experienced before but liked a lot. The shabu-shabu/sukiyaki comes with a fair amount of vegetables, and I had 20+ small pieces of meat which were all good. The sukiyaki broth was the perfect combination of sweet and salty. The service was a little slow but they responded whenever we pressed the button and they provided us with extra sauces, utensils, and broth whenever we asked.

The sukiyaki was my favorite part of the meal, and the dessert was a close second. The fondue comes with a sliced banana and a few strawberries (sprinkled with matcha powder). The fondue was very green but perfectly blended, not too powdery and at a good consistency. My friend and I were using our forks to eat the unused chocolate at the end.

Overall, it was a good meal- I really enjoyed the sukiyaki, the fondue and the warm sake that came with the yelp check-in. If you're close to LA Live and want to experience shabu-shabu, I would recommend this place! Next time I want to try the red velvet fondue.

Loved every moment of my dining experience. A little unfamiliar with the whole Japanese fondue concept, the waiter patiently explained the different options of meat and broths. The tender steak and aromatic teriyaki broth caught my eye. The meal came out with the meat, veggies, egg, udon noodles, and boiling pot of broth to cook it all in. After dipping the meat in the broth to cook, the next step is to dip it in the raw egg which created this unbelievable buttery texture and taste. Hands down best Asian meal I've had in awhile.

Free local artists perform here on Tuesdays, along with a DJ and a live artist. It's a cool idea but takes a little getting used to as the setting is a Shabu Shabu spot. Good selection of different fresh meats at different serving sizes with enough veggies to fill you up. The staff and owner are very friendly. Nice place for a relaxing dinner to catch up with friends while enjoying some good atmosphere.
