Zan's Kosher Catering, Lake Grove, New York Restaurant Details

Food:

Been going there less and less since it was Ben's. I used to only go there for Pastrami or Corned Beef, but each of the last few times I've gotten fatty or tough sandwiches. Same reason I don't order the same from most typical deli's. I don't mind the higher prices, but expect top quality when paying those prices. Since they are the only game in town (for Kosher deli), I doubt they will improve. Sad...

Food:

We LOVE Zan's! Been going there since it was Ben's, and the food is still amazing. My husband and I were lunching there the day we found our house, fourteen years ago - it's a sentimental journey when we lunch there. I order the pastrami on rye, he orders the corned beef, and we swap halves so we each get some of both. Delicious! Dipped in their spicy mustard, with pickles and cole slaw on the side - can't beat it. Sometimes we we even get a stuffed pepper as an appetizer... now all they need is wheelbarrows to get us out to the car afterwards.

Way overpriced. Everything is allacart. I ordered chicken cutlet hero. Chicken way overcooked. Tough. Burnt! Dont waste your money

Very good to excellent. My shiksa wife loves the matzoh ball soup. Best cole slaw and pickles on Long Island.

use them for lunch and dinner,,going tonite,,so i hope they read this..consistently high quality foods,,very old world tasting,,been eating this stuff all of my life,,you cant get this quality in a Diner..went thru many names,,but Zans is still the best,,
great soups,,wonderful meats,,and even pretty good Latkes,,we do take out business for parties,,and holidays,,and other reasons thru the year,,,always good value,,and excellent servies,,Unique dining experiences,,dont miss the PICKLES AND COLESLAW>>Kosher means no dairy products served here at all..believe me you wont miss it..Pass the Sour Tomatoes,,
