i'm sorry, but we went there last night and i did not enjoy it at all. the skirt steak had a wonderful flavor but was so tough i could barely chew it. and it was our last night with my daughter in law's mom and dad, and the first time i'd been able to visit with them. but we couldn't even talk to each other the ENTIRE meal because of the 'live' entertainment. a couple of songs great...but they did it the entire time we were there. it was very loud and we couldn't have a conversation and it really really pissed me off.

My wife and I ate at this restaurant yesterday around 3:00pm and had a pitcher of margarita. The food tasted ok and Margaritas seamed to be ok. We were filled with the portions and did not eat anything else that night. At 1:30 am I woke vomiting and extremely bad diarrhea this went on till 6:30 am at which time I had to call into work sick. This was food poison and I'm still in bed this morning with my throat hurting from out of control vomiting and my stomach bruised from pain. Needles to say I will never step into another Zapatas

I have eaten there 3 times hoping each time that the food would be better. Not!
The nachos they bring are the worst I've ever had, the taco salad had nothing but
lettuce in it and my child's meal was so bad she couldn't even eat it. My stomach
hurt for hours after I left. This place is never busy but somehow the waiters are too
busy to give good service. Liked the convenience close to home but this place will
never see me again.

I use to eat here years ago when I lived in the Ballantyne area around 2008-09. It was a great restaurant then and the service was always excellent. My wife and I were in the area and decided to stop by and have lunch, after not having eaten at Zapatas in years... well it was not as we remembered and left a bad taste for us. It wasn't even busy that afternoon, just three other tables were seated, and the waiter was not as attentive. We sat with drinks nearly empty for a while. The food was not on par to what it use to be either. And the grossest thing was my wife had two hairs in her food. She had a taco plate and I ordered the juevos rancheros. Simple enough... but goodness it did not even taste good. It tasted rushed, almost microwaved. Maybe they have new cooks on staff, I don't know. I hate to say this because it use to be such a great place to eat. I still have fond memories back then, but it's now what I would consider over priced and the food is sub par. I've had better meals at other mexican restaurants in town. Hope they step it up because being they are in a higher-end area they will need to if they want to continue business there.

I ordered a chicken fajita quesadilla and it was by far the worse I have ever had in my entire life. There was only a few pieces of shredded cheese on each wedge, chunks of cold rock hard chicken and practically no grilled vegetables. My four year old could have made a better quesadilla! At least she would have been generous with the cheese!!
