Zin Room, Omaha, Nebraska Restaurant Details

Food:

Used to be great until new owner and management came in. They completely changed the menu and jacked up the prices. They even altered their signature Gouda Mac and cheese and now it's oily and no good. I used to go a couple times a week, now I steer clear.

The Good:
Food: The dates, artichoke dip and peanut butter toast was excellent. So if you do decide to go to this place despite the poor reviews, do try these appetizers. You cannot go wrong with these @ zin room.
Drinks: Good set of Margaritas (Ultimate Sin and Blueberry Margarita). No problems there.

The BAD:

The person who waited our tables got our orders wrong twice in the same night. The sides/salads came in after the main course was served. For one of my friends order the waiter forgot that they had ordered a side. It was only after he was reminded that we had also ordered a side he went back to get it. The person also got the stake with the wrong sauce poured on it.

Food: All the sauces on the food were salty (pesto)

Ambience is alright. No issues there but all in all neither would I go there again, nor will I recommend it to anyone.

Went there for New Year's Eve 2012 (New Year's 2013). Had the Pris Fixe menu. For the cost, the food was a little skimpy and the champagne seemed to be a combination of apple juice, club soda, and bleach. The food was very salty, especially the potatoes. I felt like these were fast food fries. The steak appetizer had extra salt as well. I'm surprised why they would disguise what could be great flavor with salt.

I've eaten their take out before in my office and it was great. I don't know what happened tonight. Plus the waitress didn't bother to order the two different white wines we ordered, thinking we wouldn't be able to tell. Luckily my wife didn't mind.

I would eat there again, just not for New Year's Eve

Best Dining experience we have had at an Omaha restaurant and we eat out often. I have been telling all my friends about this place! Loved the steak and the salmon. Luckily my girlfriend shared her meal with me so I didn't have to choose one or the other!.. In short, go there!

I had breakfast there this last Sunday. The staff was friendly, professional, and our waitress was fantastic.

I had the French Toast with their molasses butter and a side of bacon and it was wonderful. The belle of the ball was the Sweet Cream Pancakes. They had amazing texture and great flavor. Nothing more was needed than a kiss of syrup.

Sunday before 9am there was no need to wait in line, we got right in and sat down.
