The dining experience was just fine. Our server was attentive and the ambiance was great. I ordered a flank steak dish and it was over-seasoned with peppercorns. I couldn't really taste the steak. Long story short, I suffered a violent case of food borne illness after the meal. I will not return.

Came here for happy hour - drinks are great, as are the duck eggrolls.

I wandered into Zinc on a Monday and was happy to find them open. It was a large space (considering the area), and well allocated with a upper loft dining area. Atmosphere had a smattering of different sized paper lantern hanging lights that was pleasant and not over done, perhaps a hair outdated though. The service I had was good, but not quite great. I did struggle with making a decision, as many items on the menu sounded like delicious choices... after deliberating with my knowledgeable waiter, I decided the seasonal preparation of lamb tenderloin sounded the most appetizing.
When the dish came out it was seared quite nicely and a proper medium rare on the inside; a very juicy cut and not gamey in the slightest, there was a good portion of demiglaze to go with it. Also on the plate was a serving of garlic sautéed spinach (a personal favorite of this home chef)... but the surprising addition was the andouille strudel! Mashed potatoes and andouille sausage in a crispy flaky pastry dough... it was quite delectable and I herded it around the plate to baste it in some of the demiglaze making for a quite pleasing side. The dish was reasonably priced considering the hefty portion of lamb tenderloin (I swear it must have been nearing 1/2 a pound!).

I would recommend this place to a friend as a 3rd date restaurant, or if they're a steady couple/married a just-slightly lower key date night place. I would also take my folks there for a nice dinner.

The bar has a good selection. I especially like the appetizer menu of lounge in the basement. The lounge is also a very good place to go on a first date.
