Zippy's, Honolulu, Hawaii, American Restaurant Details

Food:

Today at 5:40 p.m. we arrived at the Koko Marina Zippys. There were 3 other individual parties waiting to be seated, they mentioned that they too have been waiting just prior to our arrival. Everyone had signed in. One party was disgusted and left. Being that this is my second memo to you concerning similar experience several months ago, I became very irritated. I asked a dishwasher porter to call the manager for me-he did.
The manager said "he was short handed". Bull shit. There were many open tables. Five minutes later he opened another section with a waitress that just arrived at 6 p.m.
The male host did nothing to inform the patrons that were patiently waiting on what was causing the delay. He could have easily made sure everyone had signed in aware that there would be a delay. He acted just like an idiot just standing at the counter. Why didn't he or the manager assist the waiters by at least bussing the tables or delivering the food to the patrons instead of seating in the office as I was told by the staff.
Fortunately we had a very outstanding waitress named Shylena. I have never seen a waitress handle three tables all at once. There was a party of 2, my party of 4, and a party of 3.
She took each of the table orders without the use of a note pad. I watched her go to the computer and input the information. Miraculously, the orders were perfect! Apparently the other tables had past experience with her and said that "she is always like that". She should be recognized by your management. I even wrote a note on my visa receipt of my displeasure but recognized Shylena excellent service.
Zippy translates to quick or fast, you should consider changing it to Turtle Service!

Today I bought a bucket (21 piece) of chicken which had at least 10 pieces protruding above the top of the bucket, causing 7 pieces to fall on my floor carpet and 4 pieces in the bottom of the bag. The bucket had not overturned yet the chicken falling on the floor made it too dirty to eat. It seems that a smaller bucket was used than normally. Properly using a larger bucket or perhaps two buckets would have prevented my losing 7 pieces less to take to my Halloween party. And because this poor packing I give no stars. NO STARS ONE PUNCHED TO BE ABLE TO PUBLISH

This is nowhere near as ono as Rainbow but in a pinch, Zippy's is always there and dependable decent food. The folks who work and eat there are usually real da kine, friendly.
