This little cafe/restaurant has great food and lots of character! Parking comes at a premium (streetside parking only), but given the menu and the atmosphere, it is worth the trip. It has become a must-stop for our family when we visit Henry Vilas Zoo across the street. The staff and the food are awesome and the atmosphere caters to families with young children. With a nice selection of wine, beer and ice cream, too, it has something to offer both the children and the adults (and the adult children!) in your group. Next time your down at the zoo, walk on over with the family for a great lunch or a snack!

I wanted to love this place because it's so close to the zoo and it does have a kid friendly sandbox/toys but who wants to bus your own table when you have two little ones and a big stroller. After trying to balance a baby and toddler by myself with my large stroller outside finally someone from the inside noticed me and helped me with my dishes. There was no place outside to place your dishes so you have to walk inside but they don't allow strollers inside so I had to hold my baby and toddler's hand and try to balance my dishes, open the door, and make multiple trips. The prices weren't reflective of a bus your own table restaurant...$8 for a grilled cheese sandwich. If the restaurant rethinks their set up I'll be back but otherwise it's too much work for a young mom

I absolutely love this place. The food is fresh, handmade, and always warm when they bring it out. For such a small place with such fresh food, the prices are extremely cheap! Tables are nice and big for studying, reading or just enjoying extra space. I could be wrong but I believe the fresh produce in the summer is obtained from local farms which I think is great in a city like Madison. I would highly recommend this cafe to anyone because of its great food, good prices, friendly staff and great atmosphere. I have never been the least bit disappointed in the many times I have been there!
